The first Raging Rex slot dropped in 2019. Four years later, it has become a full-blown trilogy with Raging Rex 3 now coming out. Does the third installment advance the series? This game has 6 reels, 4 rows, and 4,096 ways to win. You need to get 3+ matching symbols in adjacent reels (starting with reel 1) to win. All in all, pretty simple stuff if you’ve played a ways game before.

Raging Rex 3 has perhaps the best graphics and atmosphere out of the trilogy. There’s plenty going on in the background, with wind rustling through the jungle environment, the T-Rex chowing down on other dinos, and close-up shots of the big beast during big wins. If nothing else, Raging Rex 3 boasts a really entertaining atmosphere.

Payouts and Max Win Potential

Six fossilized prehistoric critters serve as the low-paying symbols. High pays consist of four dinosaurs, with the best one delivering 6x the stake for six matches. The Raging Rex 3 max win is 30,000x the stake, which is definitely higher than most slots.

The T-Rex is a stacked wild (1x4) that can fully or partially land on reels 2-6. If Rex takes up a full reel, it gives you a respin and moves one reel left after each respin. This sequence continues until the dino exits the grid on the left.

• Hatching Mania – While the T-Rex isn’t present in this feature, its Hatchlings are, and they act as sticky multipliers (2x or 3x). If two or more Hatchlings appear in a win, they multiply each other (e.g., 2 x 3 = 6x). You’ll retrigger 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 free spins with 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatter symbols.
• Survival – You begin this feature with 3 lives, which reset to 3 when Rex eats a dinosaur. Rex absorbs whatever values (1x, 2x, 5x, or 10x) the dinos are holding after eating them. Meanwhile, sticky Bonus symbols replace the consumed dinosaurs and begin filling a Bone meter. Once the meter fills entirely, the Bones disappear and the dino symbols are worth more.

How Does This Game Compare to the Raging Rex Series?

Play’n GO increased the max win from 5,000x to 30,000x between Raging Rex and Raging Rex 2. The third game keeps the max payout at 30,000x, which we’re fine with because the win potential is already quite high.

The highest RTP setting dropped from Raging Rex (96.34%) to the second installment (96.2%). Play’n GO seems happy with this setting given that Raging Rex 3 also has 96.2% RTP.

As for features, the original Raging Rex provides two free spins options. This amount increased to three options in Raging Rex 2, which holds true in the third slot. The main difference is that Raging Rex 3’s Survival option is quite different versus its predecessor.

Final Thoughts on Raging Rex 3 Slot

As explained above, Raging Rex 3 retains many elements from the second game. However, it does add new wrinkles in the form of a Survival Free Spins option, slightly better graphics, and a different setting. We’d say that these aspects warrant the third edition, rather than Raging Rex 3 being just a reskin of the first two slots.

We would have appreciated another base-game feature other than the Rex stacked wild and respins. While these base features are passable, we think that another 1-2 base-game features would’ve sent Raging Rex 3 to the top.

Even so, this is a good game and a worthy addition to the series. We recommend Raging Rex 3 slot if you’ve enjoyed the series so far, or you just like dinosaur games in general.
