Pirate Pays Megaways is a departure from this reputation, though, because it’s a straightforward pirate slot. The features aren’t overly innovative compared to previous BTG slots either. However, the win potential of 104,000x the stake is definitely something to get excited about.
This 6-reel slot offers anywhere from 324 to 117,649 ways. Reels 1 and 6 can hold between 2-7 symbols.
Reels 2 through 5 contain between 2-6 symbols. A 1x4 horizontal row sits below these middle four reels. Assuming every reel holds its maximum number of symbols, then you’ll enjoy 117,649 ways (7x7x7x7x7x7).
As for the atmosphere, this game shows the back of a sailing pirate ship. The reels are displayed on the ship, which is a nice touch. Ocean waters surround the ship with glimpses of land in the distance.
Pirate Pays Megaways doesn’t come off as an overly-piratey slot. It doesn’t feel quite as unique as other BTG games either.
The lowest-paying symbols are royals ranging from A through 9. Higher pays consist of four jewels that are distinguished by an anchor, gold wheel, kraken, and sword.

BTG has trotted out some more-common, but effective, features for this game. Your payouts will be boosted by reactions wins, a wild compass symbol, Kraken Bonus, and Enhanced Bonus.
All winning symbols disappear from the grid in what BTG calls a reaction. Meanwhile, new symbols fall into the empty spaces of the removed icons. Reactions continue until no more winning combinations are possible.
The wild compass only appears in the 1x4 row underneath the middle four reels. After landing, it spins to reveal either North, East, South, or West. All symbols within its given direction will become wild bird symbols.
Gold chest scatters can land on reels 1-5. Assuming you get 3 gold chests anywhere on the reels, you’ll trigger the Kraken Bonus.
This bonus round begins with 20 potential prize possibilities onscreen. Every outcome shows both a number of free spins and a win multiplier.
One outcome is removed for every scatter past the required 3. Cannons then proceed to remove another 5 outcomes from the screen.
The kraken will then offer you a certain outcome with free spins and a win multiplier. You can either accept the kraken’s offer or reject it.
