The 1978 film Halloween is one of the most-legendary horror movies ever. This tale, which deals with escaped mental patient Michael Myers and his murderous rampage, still continues to fascinate viewers today.
Microgaming will soon launch a slots game based on this cult classic 39 years after its initial release. Keep reading to find out what you can expect from this slot in terms of features and gameplay.
The Halloween slot preview opens with scenes from the movie, which foreshadow characters that you’ll see on the reels. This includes Dr. Sam Loomis (Donald Pleasence), Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), Lynda Van Der Klok (P.J. Soles), and Annie Brackett (Nancy Kyes).
You also get to hear each character say one of their famous lines whenever they form winning combinations. The one we heard in the preview includes Dr. Loomis saying, “Death has come to your little town, sheriff.”
The movie scenes and character sayings do an excellent job of bringing the movie’s original qualities to the reels. This is also done through the symbols and animations. Symbols include all of the characters mentioned above, a gun, mask, knife, yarn, wild symbol (pumpkin w/ knife), and bonus icon (wheel).
Some of the animations include the knife stabbing forward, the gun shooting, and leaves blowing across the screen. We especially appreciate the latter because this brings the fall feeling into the game.
It’s hard to tell the betting options from the preview. But most Microgaming slots feature a minimum bet of €0.25 or €0.30, along with either 30 fixed pay lines or a 243-ways setup.
Bonus Wheel – You trigger the bonus wheel with 3 or more bonus icons. This brings up a wheel with a scared Jamie Lee Curtis sitting off to the side. The wheel is marked with various multipliers and characters, the latter of which determine the next phase of the bonus.
Pick to Escape – The preview shows the bonus wheel stop on Michael Myers’ face. This takes you to another round where your view is that of Michael walking down the stairs in pursuit of somebody. You choose leaves off to the side to reveal multipliers and prizes.
Halloween is a poplar holiday to cover in the gaming world. But it looks like Microgaming’s Halloween slot has more than enough to stand out from the pack. This game features all of the qualities that made the 1978 film so great, including the terror element through haunting piano tunes. We also like the bonus wheel and the various bonus rounds that it offers.
We haven’t seen a definite date on when Halloween will be released. But we imagine it will be sometime in early October.
You can play Halloween online slot for fun here on its releaseday or play other Microgaming slots for fun until then.
