Developed by Big Time Gaming (BTG), Pop is a four-reel slot game that offers 256 ways to win. This game is set in America at Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier.

As the creator of Megaways, Megaclusters and Megaquads, BTG is arguably the most-inventive developer in the game today. They’re rolling out another new concept with Pop, which features “Dual Reels.” We’ll discuss more on Dual Reels below along with what else Pop has to offer.

Gameplay and Atmosphere

This game features four reels and four rows (a.k.a. 4x4 grid). Winning combinations form when matching symbols appear in adjacent reels. All payouts must start in the first reel and move left to right.

Regarding the Dual Reels, the reels spin up and down. The opposite-spinning reels eventually join together to determine potential wins.

Aside from this new mechanic, Pop also has a unique way of starting new rounds. Symbols float up onto the grid like balloons, thus completing the carnival feeling.

Speaking of which, this slot takes place at sunset on the lovely Santa Monica Pier. You’ll see the attractions of Pacific Park in the background, including a Ferris wheel and donut shop.

Pop Max Win, Payouts and Symbols

The symbols consist of royals and different-colored balloons. Ranging from A through 9, royals offer the lowest payouts among regular icons. Blue, green, purple, and red balloons deliver higher payouts.

Thanks to the features (covered later), you can win a whopping 66,960x your stake. Considering that most slots offer 5,000x to 10,000x maximum prizes, Pop’s win potential is outstanding. You can wager €1 or less and still look forward to earning serious payouts.

BTG is no stranger to creating 4x4 slots. They’ve also produced Donuts and Chocolates, which offer the same setup.

Donuts and Chocolates aren’t quite as atmospheric as Pop, though. Both games feature rather simple graphics and backgrounds.

Of course, neither of these games have the Dual Reels mechanic either. The latter is brand new and, so far, exclusive to Pop.

Nevertheless, you may like Chocolates and Donuts if you enjoy playing Pop. Both slots are from the same developer and have a similar setup.

Final Thoughts

BTG gained high marks when they released Donuts in 2018. However, they didn’t get as much praise nor fanfare from Chocolates.

That said, BTG chose to revamp their 4x4 slots model. The result is Pop, which offers an interesting Dual Reels concept along with solid features.

Regarding the latter, you can look forward to reaction wins, multipliers, and free spins. These features combine to deliver payouts worth up to 66,960x your stake.

Assuming you already like BTG slots, then Pop is a must try. It has more flair than Donuts and Chocolates while bringing a new mechanic to the table.
