Beat the Beast: Cerberus Inferno is a five-reel, nine-payline slot from Thunderkick, based in Stockholm. It serves as the third slot game in Thunderkicks popular Beat the Beast series.
So far, this series has been characterized by high volatility and plenty of features. We’ll discuss whether Beat the Beast: Cerberus’ Inferno slot falls in line with the other games.
Cerberus’ Inferno features five reels, three rows (5x3 grid), and nine paylines. The nine lines change to 243 ways in the bonus (covered later).
You form wins by landing at least three matching symbols in a payline. During the bonus, you need to get three matching icons in adjacent reels. All wins in the base game and bonus must start in the first reel and move left to right.
Beat the Beast: Cerberus’ Inferno takes you to the depths of Hades. It revolves around the famous three-headed dog that guards Hades’ gates.
You’ll see staircases on both sides of the reels leading to fiery areas and columns in the back. The music and animations do a nice job of selling the Ancient Greek version of hell.
Low-paying symbols include royals ranging from A through 10. Higher-paying icons include a helmet, scepter, vase, gold Cerberus statue, and blue Cerberus heads.
The latter pays the most among this bunch at 150x your stake for five symbols. You can win a maximum of 6,666x your bet with features included.
You can wager between €0.10 and €100 per spin. Autoplay lets you keep the reels spinning automatically for up to 5,000 rounds. It gives you the option to stop it upon triggering the bonus.
The Beat the Beast: Cerberus’ Inferno RTP is 96.15%. This game’s volatility is medium-to-high when considering the features (covered next) and relatively large maximum payout (6,666x).
Cerberus’ Inferno offers two wild symbols. The regular wild, a “W,” substitutes for any regular symbol to form a win. It can become stacked if doing so helps create a (better) payout.
A golden Cerberus emblem serves as the other wild. It substitutes for all regular icons and also acts as a scatter symbol.
It offers 2x, 20x, or 200x the stake when appearing three, four, or five times anywhere on the reels. The golden Cerberus emblem also triggers 10 free spins when landing three or more times on the grid.
During free spins, the format switches from nine paylines to 243 ways. You simply need to land matching symbols in adjacent reels (beginning with the first reel) to form wins. Additionally, you can also retrigger free spins by landing another three scatters.
As mentioned in the intro, the Beat the Beast series is supposed to be about high volatility and big wins. Cerberus’ Inferno doesn’t quite live up to expectations.
This slot is good but not great. It offers a quality atmosphere, pleasing graphics, and entertaining animations. This game also features a solid top maximum win at 6,666x.
However, you don’t think of solid when looking forward to huge potential payouts. We fully expected max prizes to increase following the introduction of Beat the Beast: Kraken’s Lair and its 7,777x top payout. We also wanted more features than just a couple of wilds and free spins with a different format.
Cerberus’ Inferno is a fine game if you already like this series. It’s also above average as a standalone slot. However, we’d like to see Thunderkick increase the potential wins in further installments.
