Based on the title and theme, Thunderstruck Wild Lightning immediately draws comparisons to Microgaming’s Thunderstruck and Thunderstruck 2. As you’ll see in the following review, though, Wild Lightning is its own slot in some ways.
This game has 40 paylines going across a 5x5 grid. You’ll need to land 3+ matching symbols in a payline to win. All winning combinations must begin in the first reel and move to the right.
Thunderstruck Wild Lightning feels like an outer-space slot. It takes place high in the atmosphere above Asgard. However, the mythology theme eventually gets rolling once you trigger free spins and travel to new realms.
If you’ve played the Thunderstruck series, you know that other Norse gods are central to the theme. Wild Lightning, however, leaves Loki, Odin, and Valkyrie out of the mix. It solely focuses on Thor and powerful stones.

To summarize, a long time has passed between Thunderstruck II and the Wild Lightning version. This time gap will probably keep the latter game from being a truly iconic slot. Nevertheless, Thunderstruck Wild Lightning still has enough elements to make it worth playing.
