Hawaiian Fruits is a 5x5 grid slot from GameArt. It revolves around the various fruits of Hawaii along with tiki statues.
This game offers a fun beach vibe and colorful graphics along with plenty of features. You can read about all of this and more in the following Hawaiian Fruits review.
The base game features a 5x5 grid. However, you can expand the grid to 7x7 through features (covered later).
Winning combinations form when 5+ matching symbols land in a cluster going horizontally and/or diagonally. Symbols from winning combinations explode and allow new icons to take their places (a.k.a. cascading reels). The cascading reels continue until no new payouts can form.
Hawaiian Fruits presents a fun take on the beautiful beaches of Hawaii. The background showcases sand, ocean waters, swaying palm trees, and a worried-looking crab.
A tiki statue, which stands to the left of the reels, dances and cheers you on. It also adds modifiers to the reels (discussed later).
If you’ve played NetEnt’s Aloha! Cluster Pays, you’ll get a similar feeling when playing this slot. The main difference is that Hawaiian Fruits offers more of a daytime scene.
True to its name, this slot features fruits found on the Hawaii islands. Symbols include a coconut, dragon fruit, passion fruit, pineapple, soursop, and starfruit.
The latter pays the most at 1.5x your stake for a cluster of 12+ symbols. Passion fruit pays the second most at 1x your stake for +12 icons. No information is available at this time on the maximum payout with features included. We guess its around 5000x-10000x with all the wild multipliers involved.
A Hawaiian lei serves as the wild symbol. It substitutes for every other icon to help form winning combinations.
You can wager between €0.40 and €200 per spin. Gameplay options include autoplay, Fast Spin, and Turbo Spin.
No Hawaiian Fruits RTP or volatility rating are provided. Most GameArt slots offer around 96% RTP. We estimate that the volatility falls in the medium-to-high range after playing this game for a while.
If a wild symbol contributes to a cluster pay, it moves to a random vacant adjacent position before new icons fall from above. Therefore, the wild becomes sticky and can help you form more cascading wins. Each wild also features a win multiplier that increases by +1 when it’s part of cascading payouts.
All cascading wins contribute to the Tiki Meter. Each regular symbol (non-wild) counts towards filling this meter.
The tiki statue will zap extra wild symbols onto the grid after the meter fills enough. He’ll put an additional one, two, or three wilds on the reels for 6, 11, and 16 winning symbols, respectively. The meter resets to zero at the conclusion of each round.
You trigger free spins when filling the Tiki Meter with 40+ symbols. The grid expands to 7x7 for the bonus round.
All three wilds collected during the base game transfer to free spins. You can get a fourth, fifth, and six wild during the bonus at 55+, 85+, and 145+ symbols.
Finally, the Tiki Pop feature sees the statue randomly destroy coconuts, pineapples, or soursops during the base game. This action causes a cascade that can lead to more wins.
Hawaiian Fruits is a solid grid slot that offers plenty of entertainment in the base game and bonus round. You can look forward to cascading reels, wild symbols, wild multipliers, Tiki Pop, and extra wilds in the base game.
Free spins offer an expanded 7x7 grid along with more additional wild symbols. You’ll also benefit from all of the other features except Tiki Pop.
The regular wins are quite low, topping out at 1.5x your stake. Therefore, you’ll be heavily relying on features to get substantial payouts of any kind.
Hawaiian Fruits becomes frustrating when you go through a feature drought. Luckily, though, this game offers enough bonuses to where you can usually net some decent prizes.
In summary, Hawaiian Fruits is a fun game that offers more than enough extras. We’re not sure what kind of win potential is available. But the maximum payouts are likely high enough to make this slot worthwhile.
