Thunderkick released a five-game Beat the Beast series several years ago, culminating with Griffin’s Gold in late 2020. Dragon’s Wrath is a solid game in most aspects, from its features to the win potential. Base play is alright thanks to wild multipliers and a nice fantasy setting. However, the action really kicks into gear when you trigger free spins and gain access to roaming wilds.

Speaking of wild symbols, they add together in this game, versus multiplying each other like in Griffin’s Gold. Dragon’s Wrath does allow individual multipliers to reach 50x, instead of just 5x like in Griffin. This improvement isn’t enough, though, to push Dragon’s win potential past the Griffin’s Gold max payout.

We do wonder why Thunderkick rebooted this series after two and a half years with a game that doesn’t differ much from previous installments. Perhaps the developer wanted to rekindle some success from its past Beat the Beast games.

Whatever the case, Dragon’s Wrath is a nice—although not revolutionary—addition to this series. It doesn’t offer a lot of differences from Griffin’s Gold, and the max win is lower. Nevertheless, it provides a new setting, some entertaining features, and a pretty good win potential at 11,111x.
