Developed by Hacksaw Gaming, Warrior Ways is a 5-reel, 1,024-ways online slot that revolves around warring ninja and samurai clans. Rather than taking place in feudal Japan, though, this game happens in the present day. The theme has sort of a Ninja Gaiden feel to it.

This game has 5 reels and 4 rows, thus creating a 5x4 grid that allows for 1,024 ways. You accumulate wins by getting matching symbols in adjacent reels, beginning with reel 1.

Warrior Ways’ main setting is a city street that’s bathed in pinkish light. After triggering free spins, you head to a rural setting, complete with statues, cherry blossom trees, and a Japanese castle. All in all, we’re highly impressed with the Warrior Ways atmosphere.

You trigger this feature by getting a VS symbol directly in between two opposing warriors. For example, you might land a blue ninja, VS symbol, and orange warrior in adjacent reels. Duel assigns both fighters a random multiplier ranging from 1x to 100x. The warrior symbol who wins the duel takes over all instances of the loser’s symbol positions. The win multiplier applies so long as the winner forms a winning combination.

Clash Feature

3 Clash symbols landing anywhere on the board will launch this bonus. You start with 3 collection spins and will reset the counter anytime that a Clan Multiplier or VS symbol lands.

This bonus also features Clan Multipliers above reels 1, 2, 4, and 5. You increase the relevant reel multiplier whenever landing a Clan Multiplier symbol. Reel 3, meanwhile, has an Epic Clan Multiplier symbol that, when appearing, increases all other reel multipliers by 2x.

Once you’re out of collection spins, you’ll move on the Clash round. You begin with a number of Clash Spins commensurate with how many VS symbols landed in the collection phase. A Duel takes place on every spin, meaning you’ll rack up lots of win multipliers.

The idea of four clans dueling in a futuristic environment reminds us of the Nitropolis series (a.k.a. Nitro Reels slots). The three Nitropolis slots feature four animal factions fighting over nitro fuel in a dystopian city.

It also has elements of Yggdrasil’s Vikings Go series thanks to the Duel concept. However, Warrior Ways incorporates more features through its duels than Vikings.

Final Verdict on Warrior Ways Slot

Warrior Ways does a nice job of blending its features in with the gameplay and atmosphere. You’ll feel like you’re playing out the story as Duels take place between these warring clans.

Again, Warrior Ways isn’t quite as explosive as other Hacksaw Gaming slots. Its volatility is 4/5, and there’s no multmillion-euro jackpot involved here. Nevertheless, you should still have a great time playing this atmospheric slot. The 10,000x win potential isn’t bad either in the overall scheme of things.
