Psycho is one of the most iconic and legendary films ever to come out of Hollywood. The horror film that introduced us to the warped mind of Norman Bates, and the infamous shower scene that followed have been reproduced since time immemorial. This latest incarnation is not a remake of the cult classic, though. Instead, it is a video slot, and it has been designed and developed by NYX Gaming.

Psycho has been developed and released under agreement with Universal Partnerships and Licensed. This much we know. In short, it means that the game is going to be 100% officially licensed – cue the stabber music, right? We also know that Psycho will be scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2015, and that much of its imagery will be quite tastefully reproduced, based on the hit movie.

Gameplay and wagering

Psycho slot is a 5 reel 25 paylines slot and we can get some sort of idea what Psycho is going to look like, and how it will be set up, from a handful of screenshots that NYX Gaming has handed us.

Room keys, ravens, knives, torn papers and mail are all likely to feature heavily in this slot, which contains as its background, the one hotel in the world that you wouldn’t wish to stay at – the Bates Motel. Funnily enough, there are always vacancies. It probably has something to do with the fact that once you check in, you don’t check out. This is something which will no doubt be expressed in this slot.

Psycho features

NYX Gaming are keeping their special features under close guard. That is hardly surprising, given that people are already talking about how much they want to play this upcoming title.

There will be wilds, this much we can say. Also, there will be a special feature where a shower curtain pops up, and a knife wielding hand stabs wilds into it. These random wilds will then be placed on the reels, resulting in bigger wins. In all likelihood, you’ll be able to cue that Psycho music again at this point.

We also know that Psycho will most definitely have a free spins feature. Whilst we cannot say at this time just how it will be triggered, we do know that players can win at least 10 free games, and during that bonus, wild multipliers and increasing multipliers will be present.

Final Thoughts on Psycho Slot

Fortunately, you won’t have to wait long to get your hands on Psycho. This slot is scheduled for released in the first quarter of 2015, as we have already stated. One would think that you’ll be able to get your hands on it by February; a St. Valentine’s Day Massacre perhaps? From what we’ve seen though, Psycho may very well be a slot to die for.
