Avatar UX has really found themselves at home with the PopWins series. It has already produced seven of these slots and is adding another one in Piggy Pop.
Sporting up to 524,288 ways, Piggy Pop has intriguing gameplay. You can find out if this slot features other elements that make it worth playing too.
This game begins with 6 reels and 4,096 ways going across a 6x4 grid. It delivers wins when 3+ matching symbols land in adjacent reels, starting with the first reel.
Each payout causes winning symbols to pop/disappear. In common PopWins fashion, each winning icon is replaced by two new symbols.
The extra new symbol expands its respective reel by one position, thus leading to more ways to win. You’ll keep pushing the grid upwards with more consecutive wins.
Piggy Pop can feature up to a 6x6 grid and 93,312 ways in the base game. Meanwhile, it offers up to a 6x8 grid and 524,288 ways during free spins. When no new wins occur, the grid resets to its original 6x4 size during base play.
Low-paying symbols include stylish royals ranging from A through Q. Mid pays consist of a cocktail glass, gem, and perfume bottle.
Four piggies deliver the highest payouts. The golden pig pays the most among this group at 3x the stake for six symbols. You can win up to 10,993x your stake with features included.
The PopWins series initially started with really high RTP at 96.8% for Pop Rocks and Wild Pops. Unfortunately, Piggy Pop hits a new low in this regard with only 95.5% RTP.
While 95.5% payback is far from the worst we’ve seen, it’s still below average. Feature buy doesn’t increase the payout percentage either.
Volatility is high, which is to be expected with a large maximum win. The hit frequency of 18.93% is extremely low. That said, don’t count on netting lots of winning spins.
Piggy Pop only has one main feature besides its PopWins mechanic. However, the free spins bonus comes with added goodies, including a Gamble Wheel, win multiplier, and Golden Pig Multiplier.
As explained before, the PopWins feature adds more symbols to the reels and, thus, increases reel heights. If you can push all 6 reels up to 6 positions (6x6 grid), then you’ll trigger 3 free spins.
The bonus round reverts the grid back to its 6x4 starting point. However, you can spin the Gamble Wheel to start with a 6x5 grid (one win) or 6x6 grid (two consecutive wins). The catch is that you risk losing the bonus in the process.
Once free spins begin, any winning combination resets the counter to 3. No limit exists on how many times you can keep resetting the spins. The bonus ends when you run out of free games.
Unlike in the base game, the reels don’t automatically reset to the default 4 rows following a spin. Instead, they only revert to the lowest row size.
If one of your reels is the smallest with 6 positions, for example, the grid will start at 6x6 for the next spin. You can max the grid out at 6x8 in the bonus.
A progressive win multiplier is active during the bonus. It begins at 2x and increases by +1 following every win. The multiplier doesn’t reset until free spins are over.
As mentioned before, the golden pig is the highest-paying regular symbol. It comes with a multiplier in the bonus.
The number of gold pigs onscreen determines the Golden Pig Multiplier’s size. If 5 pigs are on the grid, for example, then you’ll enjoy a 5x wild multiplier.
Assuming all reels reach their full height (8 rows), then the Golden Pig Multiplier is doubled. In the example above, the 5x multiplier would become 10x.
This slot offers two ways to buy the bonus. First, you can spend 100x your stake to unlock regular free spins on a 6x4 grid. Second, you can shell out 400x the stake for free spins with a 6x6 starting grid.

The PopWins series opened with both high maximum payouts and RTP. Pop Rocks—the first game—still features the biggest jackpot at 72,188x the stake. As mentioned before, it and Wild Pops both have the highest RTP at 96.8%.
Since then, the win potential and payback have progressively gotten smaller. Papaya Pop—released just before Piggy Pop—features the series’ smallest jackpot at 10,542x. It previously had the lowest RTP (96.0%) too.
Piggy Pop has a slightly higher max payout (10,993x), but, again, the series’ lowest RTP (95.5%). Therefore, it’s not moving the PopWins line in the right direction in terms of math.
Its main attribute is an increased number of ways. Piggy Pop boasts up to 524,288 ways—far more than any other PopWins game. Other than this, though, it doesn’t really stand out.
Avatar UX continues milking PopWins slots for all they’re worth. It features eight such games and, likely, counting.
Piggy Pop is another solid game in this line. It offers entertaining features, above-average win potential, and numerous potential win ways.
We only see two notable downsides with this slot. One is obvious in the below-average RTP. The other is simply the fact that Piggy Pop doesn’t really advance the series.
Again, it does offer far more ways than any other PopWins slot at up to 524,288. It doesn’t provide much new, however, regarding the mechanic, jackpot, or features.
Avatar UX has made a good game here when compared to the average slot. Provided you like the PopWins concept, then you may appreciate yet another theme. You shouldn’t expect much different, though, because Piggy Pop is more of the same.
