Push Gaming has developed plenty of hits over the years, so it doesn’t always revisit successful slots. That said, we can excuse this studio for deciding to release a sequel six years after the original. Wild Swarm 2 is the continuation of Wild Swarm, a 2018 release about honeybees in the woods.
The first game became popular for its lighthearted bee theme and exciting features, including Swarm Mode. Let’s find out if the sequel lives up to its predecessor in this Wild Swarm 2 slot review.

Wild Swarm 2 has 5 reels, 4 rows (5x4 grid), and 20 paylines just like the first slot. It delivers wins when 3 or more matching symbols fall in a payline (starting with reel 1).
This slot takes place in a forest, where the bees have developed an advanced colony high above the ground. You’ll see trees, a hive, futuristic hive-like houses, and a forest road far below. We really like the look and feel of this game.
Regular pays include leaves with card values (A-J), a jar of honey, purple flower, white flower, crown, and honey-coated dollar sign. The highest-paying regular symbol delivers 15x the bet for five matches. The Wild Swarm 2 max win is 10,000x your bet, which is higher than the average online slot.
Two wild symbols are available in this game, including Wild Honey and a sticky wild. The former appears in the base game and can pay as much as the best regular symbol. Sticky wilds are only available during free spins and Wild Swarm.

The meter tops out at 5 segments, at which point it can explode anytime another bee lands on the reels. Once the hive explodes, it triggers the Swarm Mode feature.
Aside from what’s described above, you can also trigger Swarm Mode when selecting a Chest. You begin this feature with 10 free spins and reel multipliers above each reel (2x, 3x, 4x, 6x, and 8x in order from reels 1-5). A stack of sticky wild symbols randomly appears on one of the reels during the first free spin. Once this bonus ends, the Hive Meter begins with anywhere from 2-4 segments already filled.
Landing 3, 4, or 5 scatters will trigger 7 free spins with 3 sticky wilds, 8 free spins with 4 sticky wilds, or 10 free games with 5 sticky wilds. You can also unlock free games by picking a Chest during base play. The guaranteed sticky wilds remain in their positions until the bonus ends.
Free spins also come with 2x and 4x reel multipliers above reels 2 and 4, respectively. If you fill one of these reels with sticky wilds, you’ll get +1 free spin and have the Reel Multiplier applied to each relevant sticky wild.

The sequel has plenty of similar elements to the first Wild Swarm, including Hive Meter Boost, Swarm Mode, and free spins. The only major difference includes the many wild multipliers in Wild Swarm 2.
These multipliers boost the win potential from 3,050x (original) to 10,000x. Of course, you’ll also deal with high volatility in the sequel versus medium-to-high volatility in the first slot. This trade-off seems worthwhile, though, when considering the much larger top payout.
Whether it’s Razor Returns or the Fat series, Push Gaming has no trouble putting out a good sequel. Wild Swarm 2 proves this fact, expertly bridging the gap between two games that are six years apart. It retains many of the popular elements that made the original so good, while adding more multipliers and pumping up the max win.
As mentioned before, Wild Swarm 2 does have higher volatility than the first slot. Therefore, you may experience more rocky moments when playing this game. You might not mind, though, if you’re into larger win potential.
Maybe this game won’t be quite as legendary a sequel as Razor Returns and the like. However, it’s definitely a quality online slot and one worth trying—especially if you’re already a Wild Swarm fan.
