Gameplay

This slot plays out on a 5x3 grid with 243 ways by default. However, the number of ways can increase to 7,776 through features (discussed later). You score winning combinations by getting matching symbols in adjacent reels. As usual with slots like this, all wins have to begin in reel 1.

Whacked’s setting takes place in an abandoned gas station in the desert. Based on the junky cars and dirt parking lot, this station hasn’t been used in many years. It’s a perfect spot for a mob hit and one that makes the atmosphere feel authentic.

Standard low-paying symbols include brass knuckles, a knife, pistol, shotgun, and rope. High pays include five gangsters, with the most valuable one paying 2x your stake for five matches. Lock ‘N’ Load

Wins cause bullets to load into a pistol. Once the gun holds 6 bullets, Lock ‘N’ Load activates if no further wins are available. The pistol will then randomly fire bullets at mobster symbols. Any hit gangster will turn into a wild symbol, thus improving your chances of getting wins. The bullets will be saved if 5 or less high pays are visible.

Whacked Spins

You trigger the bonus round by landing 3 or more scatters anywhere on the grid. This bonus starts you off with 3 spins, which reset after any winning symbol. Coins, which are worth the base bet, go into a win counter at the bottom of reels. You’ll receive the total value/win of the coins after you run out of Whacked Spins.

The xRevolver symbol, which only appears during the bonus, will deliver modifiers. Available features from xRevolver symbols include:

Comparison between Whacked! and Other Slots

Whacked is unlike any other gangster slots we’ve played regarding the theme. It’s akin to an edgy mobster TV show or movie (e.g., Goodfellas) rather than a light-hearted slot. That said, it’s certainly different from more-playful games like the aforementioned Reel Gangsters and SlotFather.

Gameplay and features wise, Whacked! isn't tremendously different from other NLC online slots. It has xWays and xNudge like most Nolimit games, although you can only unlock xNudge through the bonus round.

Final Thoughts about Whacked! Slot

Whacked is unique in some ways and pretty standard in others. Again, the theme is more hardcore than other online slots in the mobster genre. Of course, gritty slot games are Nolimit City’s specialty (ex. Kiss My Chainsaw).
