Top Dawgs spreads 5 reels and 15 paylines across a 5x3 grid. You score wins by getting 3+ matching symbols in a payline, beginning with the first reel. As can be seen, Top Dawg$ doesn’t reinvent the wheel in terms of gameplay.
The atmosphere presents a gritty look at Los Angeles. It’s presumably based in South Central LA, where many famous rappers (e.g. Ice Cube) have come from.
You’ll see a speedbump along with a weathered road in the foreground. Palm trees and brown grass line the sides of the screen.

A “W” acts as the wild symbol and substitutes for regular pays to form winning combinations. It also provides wins itself that top out at 30x the stake for five.

The New York side looks fairly gritty, just like the Top Dawg$ South Central depiction. However, the LA side looks more like Rodeo Drive than the mean streets that inspired Tupac and Kendrick Lamar.
Symbols in these two games are also noticeably different. True to its name, Top Dawgs revolves around dogs. ECvWC, meanwhile, focuses on rapper versions of famous presidents.
Win potential is fairly close for both slots. ECvWC tops out with wins worth 30,618x the stake, while Top Dawg$ delivers payouts worth as much as 25,014x.
The defining difference between these slots comes with the features. ECvWC offers traditional bonuses along with several modifiers, while Top Dawg$ only provides free spins and mystery respins.
We’re not sure if Relax Gaming was inspired by Nolimit City’s ECvWC or if they were already working on this theme. Regardless, Top Dawg$ is a highly entertaining slot that differs just enough from ECvWC to avoid being a rip-off.
