Nolimit City liked its first visit to prison so much that it’s going back for a second time. It’s following up San Quentin with Folsom Prison, which is based on California’s Folsom State Penitentiary.

Opened in 1880, Folsom is California’s second-oldest prison. Folsom exemplifies this fact by spreading cockroaches around the reels. The idea of prison cockroaches might not sound appealing, but, as you’ll find out, it’s central to the features.

Gameplay

The starting setup features 5 reels and 16 ways going across a 2x2x2x2x2 grid. Many other potential positions are closed off via prison bars. You can unlock up to 46,664 ways by expanding the grid (explained later). Wins form when 3+ matching symbols land in adjacent reels, beginning with reel 1.

Like San Quentin, this game features a gritty prison-style atmosphere. The main difference, though, is that Folsom has an older look due to its real-life age. Rather than metal walls and barbed wire, it has taller castle-like walls that are made out of stone.

Final Verdict on Folsom Prison Slot

This game isn’t quite the shocker and edgy slot that San Quentin is. It also doesn’t have quite as awe-inspiring of win potential. Nevertheless, Folsom Prison does well in its own right.

This game uses a unique blend of dangerous prisoners and cockroaches to create a memorable online slot. The cockroaches are an interesting way to dole out bigger payouts.

Overall, Folsom is another great game from Nolimit City that’s worth playing. It’s not exactly the same as San Quentin, but, then again, that’s a good thing. Nobody wants a replica of an already-great slot. Folsom Prison brings the same penitentiary thrills with a little quirkier feel.
