Fiery amphibians have become fashionable this year. Play’n GO released Blazin’ Bullfrog and Fire Toad within a few months of each other. Now, Push Gaming is coming out with Fire Hopper.

According to the developer, Fire Frogs exist in a special pond near the base of a waterfall. They change colors while hopping across the pond and leave behind treasures in the process.

Fire Hopper’s theme certainly sounds interesting. We’ll discuss whether its features, graphics, and more warrant further attention.

Gameplay and Atmosphere

This slot features 7 reels and 7 rows (7x7 grid). Winning combinations happen when clusters of 5+ matching symbols form.

Symbols from wins disappear and create a cascading reels effect. New icons fall into the empty positions and allow for more potential payouts. Cascading reels continue so long as more wins can form.

True to the backstory, Fire Hopper’s setting is a pond. This pond features rocks, Lilypads, and clear waters. The pond’s appearance feels like an old-school video game.

Both of these Play’n GO slots have a similar amphibian-on-fire theme. Fire Toad is definitely the better of the two games, though. It has stellar graphics, more features, and bigger win potential (5,000x the stake).

Push Gaming’s Blazin’ Bullfrog, on the other hand, is more of a basic slot. This 5-reel, 243-ways game offers stacked wilds and respins. However, these features only add up to a maximum win worth 1,215x the stake.

Fire Hopper is more similar to Fire Toad than Blazin’ Bullfrog when it comes to features and graphics. However, it easily trumps both slots with regard to win potential.
