Many slots developers produce generic Wild West games that revolve around gunfights. Nolimit City, however, has taken a more-specific approach with El Paso Gunfight xNudge.
This 5-reel slot, which offers up to 43,334 ways, centers on Dallas Stoudenmire and the “Four Dead in Five Seconds” incident of 1881.
A feared Marshall, Stoudenmire ran into the middle of a gunfight and started shooting. He quickly killed former Marshall George Campbell, John Hale (Campbell’s friend), and Ochoa (an innocent Mexican bystander). Constable Krempkau died after being hit by one of Hale’s bullets.
This gunfight is the stuff that Hollywood Wild West films are made of. It also makes exciting subject matter for an online slot.
El Paso Gunfight plays out on a 5-reel grid that can offer as many as 43,334 ways. This slot also lets you choose your “shooting stance” during certain features.
One stance provides a 4-3-3-3-2 format, which leads to high volatility and up to 23,334 ways. The other stance offers a 2-3-3-3-4 setup, which creates extreme volatility and up to 43,334 ways. Both stances can feature as few as 216 ways, depending upon how many symbols land.
You earn wins by getting 3+ matching symbols in adjacent reels. All winning combinations must start in the first reel.
Regarding the atmosphere, this slot truly dives into the infamous Four Dead in Five Seconds battle. It features flying bullets, blood splatters, flames, and dead gunslingers.
You’ll also see photographs of the gunfight during big wins. Some of the photos include Stoudenmire seeing the gunfight start, him drinking whiskey after killing the men, and dead bodies being carted off.
The game’s background, which is just a cabinet, isn’t overly impressive. We personally would’ve gone with a traditional dusty western town or saloon background. The animations and photographs, however, more than make up for the bland backdrop.
Low-paying symbols include stylized royals ranging from 10 through A. High pays consist of the four men who died during the gunfight, including Campbell, Hale, Krempkau, and Ochoa.
Campbell pays the most among this bunch at 6x the stake for five symbols. You can win as much as 44,440x your stake when accounting for features.
The betting range runs from €0.25 to €50 per spin. The €50 maximum bet allows you to win as much as €2,222,000 (44,440 x 50).
The El Paso Gunfight RTP is 96.06% by default. However, casino operators can choose 94.24% payback. You should check the pay table before playing to see what kind of payout percentage is available.
This game is loaded with features, including xNudge Wilds, Deputy and Marshall Raids, Gunfight Spins, Deputy and Marshall Gunfight, and more.
You may have noticed that Dallas Stoudenmire doesn’t appear as a regular symbol. That’s because he serves as the xNudge Wild symbol instead.
Appearing only in reels 2, 3, and 4, Stoudenmire xNudge Wilds take up all three positions (1x3). When landing as a 1x1 or 1x2 symbol, they nudge until occupying the entire reel.
Each nudge causes a win multiplier to increase by +1. Two nudges, for example, would led to a 3x multiplier.
If multiple Stoudenmire xNudge Wilds land and nudge, their win multipliers are added together. Three xNudge Wilds can collectively deliver up to a 9x multiplier.
You trigger the Deputy and/or Marshall Raids whenever the Deputy and/or Marshall Badges land. The given feature depends upon the following occurrences:
You trigger 8 Gunfight Spins when landing 3 scatters in the middle three reels. This bonus begins with you choosing either the high or extreme volatility stance.
The triggering scatters become Jumping Wilds, which jump to new positions after each free spin. Assuming a Stoudenmire xNudge Wild lands on the same reel as a Jumping Wild, then the multiplier will double (e.g. 3x becomes 6x).
You collect +1 free spin and trigger either Deputy or Marshall Gunfight Spins when a Deputy or Marshall Badge lands during this bonus.
Deputy and Marshall Gunfight Spins can be triggered during Gunfight Spins or the base game. Regarding the latter, you need one of the following occurrences to happen:
You get to choose the stance when triggering either of these features during the base game. Triggering scatters will transform into Jumping Wilds.
Badges will once again cause symbols to transform into a single symbol. All transformed symbols stay this way until the bonus is over.
You trigger Drunken Gundfiguth&r Spins when getting three scatters and both the Deputy and Marshall Badges on the reels. You’ll receive 10 free spins, 5 Jumping Wilds, and a 4-3-3-3-2 grid.
When a Stoudenmire xNudge Wild lands along with a Jumping Wild, its multiplier doubles and locks into place for the entire bonus. The Jumping Wild, meanwhile, gets kicked off the reel and disappears.
You’ll trigger this feature when landing four high-paying characters along with a Stoudenmire Wild, simultaneously, in the base game. 4 Dead in 5 Seconds awards a respin and sees Stoudenmire Wilds cover the middle three reels for the respin.
Nolimit City offers a unique bonus buy feature with different options. By comparison, other developers only provide one bonus buy setting.
Upon choosing El Paso Gunfight’s feature buy, you’ll pick from among the following options:
Nolimit City is no stranger to the Wild West. They’ve produced a couple of other gunslinger slots in Deadwood and Tombstone. Both Deadwood and Tombstone have the settings we look for from these types of games. However, they provide more-generic takes on the subject.
Deadwood’s features are similar to El Paso’s bonuses in many ways. It too offers many features along with free spins that turn into other free games (e.g. Hunter Spins turn to Shoot Out Spins). By comparison, Tombstone is fairly limited on the quantity of bonuses.
Neither Deadwood (13,950x) nor Tombstone (11,000x) quite measure up to El Paso’s win potential. They do, however, deliver higher maximum payouts than the average slot.
El Paso Gunfight xNudge is a truly unique slot, from its backstory to the animations. This game may not look like much upon launching, but it quickly becomes exciting when the bullets and blood start flying.
The volatility is just as thrilling as the subject matter. No matter if you pick the 4-3-3-3-2 or 2-3-3-3-4 stance, you’ll look forward to high volatility and big win potential. This game tops out with a massive prize worth 44,440x the stake.
If you’re like us, you may enjoy the appearance of Deadwood and Tombstone more. But neither these slots, nor most others, match the volatility and payouts of El Paso Gunfight.
In summary, we highly recommend that you check out this rendition of the Four Dead in Five Seconds gunfight. It has the big payouts, features, and animations that are sure to entertain fans of westerns.
