Blackjack is a casino game with many variations. Here is our list with the most popular types of blackjack and the differences between them:
Do you know how to play Blackjack? If not we can teach you so read on! In Blackjack you play only against the Dealer. The goal is to get 21 or as close to 21 as possible to have as good a chance to be better than the dealer. If you get more than 21 then you will go "bust" and lose your bet. If you get the same amount (17 or higher) that the dealer it will be "tie" or "push" and you get your money back. If you get 21 on only two cards it is called Blackjack. This is the best you can get, better than 21 on three cards. p>
The game begins with players place their bets before the dealer gives two cards to each player as well as one open and one closed card to himself. There are usually limits on how small or big bets you can do. Then count the sum of their two cards. Face cards are worth 10, Aces as 1 or 11, and the other cards have their normal value. P>
If you get 21 or Blackjack on your first two cards, you win 1.5 times your bet, unless the dealer also gets Blackjack. Then there will be a draw. P>
After counting the value of the cards you get to choose if you want an additional card to get closer to 21 or stay. You can stay at any point you want. The dealer must take a card until he reaches at least 17 points, then he must stay. P>
After the first two cards, there are a few different choices you can make, also depending on the variant of Blackjack you are playing.
On a score of 7, 8, 9, 10 or 11, you can choose to double your bet. After double up, you only get one card without the ability to draw more cards.
If you get two similar cards, such as two kings you can choose to split these cards and play them as two single hands. You then bet an equal amount on the new hand. These two hands are then played as normal. Splits two aces, you only get one card on each hand, with the exception you get another ace, then you can choose to split again, etc. You can't double a splitted hand.
If the dealer has an ace as his first card, you can choose to pay for an insurance. This costs half your basic bet. If the dealer getting a Blackjack, you will get double the insurance bet. You lose insurance if the dealer does'nt get Blackjack.
